Anybody know of any deals done with, or feedback on, Fontain Motors in Iver, they are advertising on ebay, wanting RS6's.

We can offer an alternative to Fontain for buying your cars, (of course if we have the cash) it would be interesting to compare what they offer to what we could?

Met the Fontain boys this weekend at ADI, was busy introducing myself to people and came across a table full at the bar. I obviously assumed them to be friendly forum boys, sadly when I introduced myself as Tom from German Marques, they were all from Fontain and did'nt really offer a friendly reception. Which is fair enough as they are our dircet competiton I suppose, but still, they could of been nicer - life is too short.

That's a shame, if there are different specialists out there then it should keep everyone honest.

DrG on the Pistonheads forum works at Fontain, and seems to offer decent advice on their forum. Not met him however get the impression they are approachable guys.

As always there will be good and bad stories about any dealership. Fontain have more good than bad to my knowledge. Audi Driver magazine has given them best indy dealer award a number of times.

Fontains treated me ok. Bought 2 cars from them (S8, RS6+) and had no real issues.

The RS6+ did have knackered DRC which I noticed almost immediately after buying the car but they did completely replace it for me free of charge with H&R coilovers, so I was happy with that. They could have mucked me about, but just did the job without hesitation.

Although I have seen some differing opinions posted here and there, I personally have no complaints with Fontains and would recommend them as they treated me well.

I bought my 53 plate RS6 Avant from them november 2009 - no issues, been running sweet for almost 18,000 miles.

Cannot grumble.

Yes i paid top price that would make most forum members eyes water.

Fellas, don't get me wrong we respect Fontain - you don't win Independent of the year for all those years without doing someting right.

I was just recounting an amusing tale from the the weekend, and offering us as another option if you are looking to get a price from the 'trade' on your car.

I'm not suprised you didn't get a warm welcome:

As you said you've not been around long, or sold alot....but people should vote for you because it would be funny?

Blimey Jiggs

Firstly, let me be the first to welcome you to RS246.

Secondly, I'm not going to apologise for the business not being around long, or having not sold much - that is one of the features of a new business. We have now been around longer and sold more.

However, you make a very valid point about my post on Audisrs, and I can now see why I was not invited to sit down and share a pint with them.

In hindsight it was a foolish post, not very professional and if I could delete now I would.

That is the beauty of public forums and these days you almost need a solicitor to check your post before posting, just in case you offend, or you need to check your post very carefully before pressing the 'post' button.

Believe me, I had no intention to offend - but reading the post back now, and if the ball was on the other foot, I would have been exactly the same, if not worse.

So publically I would like to apologise, and I will put a call into them today to apologise also.

I have no desire to make enemies, competition or not.
