In car entertainment for the noisy ones

Post by installer69 » Thu Jan 22, 2004 12:07 am

So, on my new RS6 I think I would like the kids to be able to watch DVD, with headphones of course, in the back.

Can anybody recommend a good company to carry out such a trick?

I had a look at a very nice set-up in West Byfleet where they can either put the screens in the headrests or have a bigger roof mounted one-about 1500 of yer English IIRC.
Paula Marks Radio I think.
I also think someone on this board has a brother in law in Guildford who's in the business.
It amazes me that Audi dealers are no help whatsoever in getting this stuff fitted- it's extra business after all.

They may not be able to offer a solution but they are more than happy to tell you that it will invalidate your warranty if connected to something that subsequently goes wrong.

Martian, I've just noticed that you have the mugello RS6. Since this is my choice I was wondering what colour interior you had, what options you took and if purchased new, did you 'get a deal'?

Martian, I've just noticed that you have the mugello RS6. Since this is my choice I was wondering what colour interior you had, what options you took and if purchased new, did you 'get a deal'?

I originally had an S4 on order and was waiting for a Tiptronic- basically I got fed up waiting and last May found this Mugello RS6 with Silver Nappa and Birch Wood fascia- see other post about the Silver Leather in the 'Help me choose...' thread.
The car was a low mileage demonstrator and I got a VERY good deal- so good I still can't believe it. If you push the Finance people you might get Base Rate, I got base plus .25 but they will go to Base if a big deal hinges on it.
Most equipment is standard anyway and I think my only extra is the cross drilled brakes- I don't know why anybody would want to change them as these Brembos pull the car from 60-0 mph in 3 SECONDS
The only extra I have'nt got that I wish I had is the sun-roof, otherwise the spec is perfect and I'm very happy with the colour. When it's clean , and the alloys are shining, it's a real head turner and as 'there's still not many about' it gets a lot of attention particularly in France and Belgium.
I love the car so much I have twice enquired about speccing up a new one and got the impression a deal was to be had with a firm order.
Why don't you take a car that's in the network and already had it's first depreciation- you can get your choice and save yourself at least 5k.
Let us know what decision you come to and how you get on.
Cheers
