Clever move, seems to be quite predictable when it breaks...

And now mine's gone - 6 years and 56,000 miles. Battery light only however, but 9v showing on the guage with electrics all still running - 11.8 with everything switched off. Interestingly the voltage was oscillating between11.5 and about 12.2 every second or so after a few miles of driving, with the idle speed following suit. Glad to have bought the Inchcape 3 year all inclusive warranty last year....

Nice A4 quattro load car, but had forgotten why I hate diesels so much - nothing nothing nothing EVERYTHING - when pulling away and nasty vibrations through the pedals....

watching with interest ... should be a no brainer as the alternator is specifically noted in the policy wording

Fingers crossed they are asking lots of silly questions as the policy was taken out 24/7/10 and it failed on Weds night, think they think the car has been parked up for weeks, Tracker will prove that wrong :-)

Why would it nmatter to them if it was parked up? Did they send an inspector?

It would matter if the fault had already existed at the time the policy started, and marmite had left the car parked up (for nearly 2 months....) before claiming.

Seems these WD chaps have rather suspicious minds!

Cheers, Richard.
