Ok sunroof was working today. Think I've sussed it out. The sun has to be directly shining on the roof panel without obstruction from clouds.

I sat in her and noticed the fans were working, within a few minutes clouds covered the sun briefly and the fans slowly stopped.

Thats how it's supposed to work. There's a Peltier cooler up under the dash somewhere (the sort of thing you get in an electric coolbox) and the solar juice powers the panel and a fan to blow the cool(er) air into the interior. Works well on my car too.

Only thing Audi should have done was have a switch to allow two settings - one for normal cooling and one to redirect the charge to the battery, for when you leave the car for long periods without using it.

I would have thought that indirect sunlight would have been enough to power it.

It is on mine. I don't think there's any cooling going on though, just the fans running.

Does the interior alcantara section of the solar roof slide separate to the actual solar panel section?

That's what I thought. Out of interest (& nosiness) Rich what are R/h Parking mod and Valentine 1 referring to?

I replaced the rear wiper arm (and both the fronts) with the newer and better Aero style and because this is designed to park on the R/H side (it looks upside down if its parked on the L/H) I also modified the rear wiper motor to park on the R/H..

The Valentine 1 is a Radar/Lazer Detector.
