RS4 B7 or RS6 C5

Post by nazo » Sun Jun 13, 2010 1:49 am

Hi Chaps

I am new to this forum. Currently own a Fiat Coupe and tend to spend 2-3K a year on it, by way of upgrades and replacement parts. So familiar with high running costs, but not as much as RS6

So here is my delimma.. 20K to spend on one of the following with 5k spare for any unexpected expenses

RS6 Plus C5
Audi RS4 Avant B7 :P

In reality is there much difference in RS6 and RS6 plus?

Is there a section where you guys post your cars for sale?

Very hard to focus on the RS4 or RS6 and from all the reading the RS6 plus has everything I need without looking at remaps and custom exhausts.

Lastly, cosmetic question on RS6 C5 rear lights, can i get smoked ones with LEDs?

Either looking now or in a years time..as I love the coupe way too much to part yet..

Thank you for a fantastic forum, as good as Fiat Coupe fccuk.org as far as my experience goes..

Keep it up

Cheers

Nazo

Well if you chaps convince me RS4 B7 is worth it over RS6, then i have time to save further, so 25K for RS4 and extra 5k for any issues.

Also does anyone have the original brouchure for RS6? even better if UK edition

thanks

Love my 6, I do like the B7 RS4 just a little too small inside

you wont get one for even £25k yet

i've had both, and would have a plus - but i would have a RS 4 over a standard RS 6

Depends what you value. The RS6 is quicker (in a straight line), more tuneable and has more space.

The RS4 is a better handling car, and is much nicer inside.

+1 except I feel space inside RS6 means I could not go back to B7

Try to get a test drive in each before deciding. Very different beasts.

Don't rule out a remapped RS6 (rather than a plus) - there's a recent thread discussing some of the pros and cons at http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=84965 but in essence you'll have more choice, save a few grand, and get a faster car which is just as reliable.

Actually I do a lot of mountaineering, hiking, scrambling and outdoor pursuits as a hobby and I always find myself hiring a VW Passat Estate..

Passats a nice car and will go off-road enough for me to park near the mountain bases. But a RS6 or RS4 would be perfect, to carry 2-3 others and all our gear, plus travel there and back in style and speed.

I need to haul my bags and equipment to a local dealer and see how it fits in a A4 or A6 avants..
