That said, I think it is more due to the big 19" wheels and low profile tyres as on good roads, the handling is great, even fully loaded with a box on the roof. It has the DRC system.
Find a car to drive the does not have DRC, it's not unstable. You will notice the difference.

Where are you based?

North east London.

I have the same sort of wheels on my old Aston, and the same behaviour over road ridges and I definitely do not have DRC on that one. The RS6 does not wallow or bounce on sleeping policemen (if the shocks are really gone, it would do that at the very least?).

A car with shot shocks would not handle the way it does on good roads or bad.

Anyway, it is due for a service soon so all will be revealed (preferably not).

DRC is so <beep> and unpredictable it's difficult to predict what it will do when it starts to fail. Mine was completely shot on one circuit, so handling felt OK most of the time, but would jump and skitter apparently randomly. Mine certainly didn't wallow or bounce and yet 2 of the shockers were completely empty.

I think I have artificially induced this type of behaviour with the fitment of the 275 Vreds. Those coupled with the H&R coilovers and running 40 psi makes for such a firm ride that mid-turn ridges unsettle the car in a similar fashion to failing DRC but nowhere near as pronounced. I will be going back to 255s when these wear out. Trouble is, my mileage is so frakking low that this may not be for some time yet!! I will be providing a full review once I do.

Audi in Newbury confirmed yesterday shocks are shot and to be replaced. I had to take the senior tech out for a test drive, I wasnt 1 minute from the garage when the back end started to 'sway' and this was low speed, uneven road that a Ford Fiesta could handle.

Back in Monday, all under warranty thank god !
