i reckon a plus with only 16k miles on the clock could well be worth £28k
there's a mugello plus on ebay with 84k miles for £24k
i know which one is a better buy....

Well, I bought my 'plus' in Feb 2008 with just 9,800 miles on the clock and paid 39,995 for it. My point is that the right car is worth whatever someone will pay for it and in the case of that 'plus' with 16k miles, I'd say 30k is worth it as it must now surely be one of/if not the lowest mileage plusses left. That alone is worth holding out for (for the seller that is).

Put it this way, it looks like prices are recovering nicely for our cars anyway!

Least I ain't in negative equity which I honestly thought I was gonna be for a while there. I weathered the storm and it looks to have paid off (unlike the car which I'm still paying for... )

The 115k plus first appeared on Pistonheads for around 11-13k IIRC. I noticed then it was very cheap and got snapped up straight away by this trader who has since spent about 2k on it to be able to offer it at 20k+.

I would have bought it at 13k but not at current price.

Good spot. I thought this car reminded me of something.

Hi All,

Its my RS6, I bought it from Adrian in Ireland, lovely guy, the car was £13750.00 as advertised on Pistonheads at the time.

I have asked John and PhilT for advertising costs, and as yet have not heard from them. I know there are strict rules against advertising on RS246 without proper marketing agreed by the site, so I will not go on about the new business. We can be found at http://www.german-marques.co.uk

I am more than happy to discuss anything regarding the car with anyone who wants to know.

It does concern me that the general consensus regarding used car dealers is that we are out to make a quick killing on a car. We are certainly trying to prove that this is not the case. Everyone has to make a living, but by no means would I want someone to buy a car from German Marques and then read a thread like this and feel like they had not had a fair deal.

I am not blaming anyone for their views on the second hand car market, lets face it is full of many dealers that would do exactly as NIKKIrsSIXX suggests.

The car has simply cost what it has cost. If it had cost less we would have retailed it at less.

Just to let people know though, our PLUS has had the following done

Wheels completely refurbished by Nick @ http://www.reinventingthewheel.co.uk/.

It has had the cambelt, aux belt and water pump changed.

A CV boot changed.

New Genuine Discs all round

New pads all round

The whole car resprayed (excluding the roof)

A rear parking sensor changed.

A full detail inside and out, including a Werkstat sealant.

My personal view is that if you can see past the mileage this actually represents a good value PLUS considering the amount of work that has been done on it. It certainly looks amazing. You could buy one at £22-24K and by the time you have had the jobs done that we have you would up to the price of the £30K car.

You are also welcome to have the car inspected or go next door to the PowerStation and have a good look around it once it is on a ramp.

Please feel free to call me to discuss anything else about the car, or if you think the price is too high, or to low then you are welcome to come and see it, or the RS4, or the RS2, or any of our stock. Call in and have a coffee.

Cheers All,

Tomson

Well said mate I think a lot of honest second hand specialst car dealers get tarred with the same brush as the dodgey Arfur Daily types.
Now sell me that RS2 for 5k!

I agree :) However there is mark up and then there is mark up. We all need a profit to survive but personally I think it's a bit rich. Cambelts are part of owning these cars, thats just mandatory and to be expected, disks and pads again excellent they are done but really, if your going to buy one of these cars, like the belt, this has to be done. I do however like the re-spray though thats a great selling point. Its a very nice motor!
Best of luck to you guys, fingers crossed.
