Special Audi factory extras
Special Audi factory extras
According to this guy on Pistonheads, there was an SE engine code, also, I'm not sure about some of the other 'options', I can't pick the difference in the instrument panel.
Can anyone quantify why this car is so special? I'm looking for an Avant to export to Australia. I'm thinking it's best to track down a well sorted Plus rather than something like this. Thoughts?
Also, does anyone know where I can find a list of countries that the C5 RS6+ (Plus) was domestically sold by Audi? e.g. Australia

Quotes:
PLUS THE SPECIAL AUDI FACTORY FITTED STUFF when new, verified by Audi UK before I bought the car as follows:
Customised Instrument panel
Uprated brake discs
Sports Exhausts
Sports steering wheel
Electric steering coloum
Super sports suspension
Electric solar sunroof
Brush Mat Ali inlays
Load safety net
Auto dipping door mirrors
SE Engine code - Audi cannot tell me exactly what this includes, BHP increases via engine managment system giving 500BHP, rev limit is higher no limit on top speed. I took it over 180 in Germany last year (nat nav est) before I ran out of bottle and it was still climbing!
Put it this way at 155 it changes up to fifth gear, at 165 the turbos kick in and off you go again.
Car had New Audi fitted gearbox + oil coolers 3 years ago. Rare for this car to need this, probably to to performance increases. Hence why I have extended warranty now.
Original car reg OW53AYN, help yourself and check. I used Audi UK press office to verify (was 0121 430 3805) as Audi produced this car for shows as track pace car hence the upgrades and very high spec.

To be fair, the guy doesn't state that it's a plus... he just thinks it's special.
I guess I was trying to call into question the following "Special Audi factory Extras", these are new to me:
Customised Instrument panel
Sports Exhausts
Super sports suspension
SE Engine code

*swing and miss* This RS addiction is getting a little too, errm addictive. I'm actually considering the export of a nice Plus back to Australia for safe keeping. I figure it'll be the perfect car for when it goes wrong and Mad Max becomes reality...

If you get a copy of the service book the front inside page has the option code sticker on it - you can decipher these on the web. I would not trust anything stated unless it is on this list.
As far as I am aware, Audi did do a sports exhaust (I think I have one)- it is oval pipes but they are black and it makes more noise than the normal one. No-one has verified this though so could be folk lore....

Is the black exhaust not just the one from a Plus? I may be mistaken.
That 'Alicante' headlining sounds divine! Are we sure it's not a Spanish RS6?!
