Just for your info, the new Audi warranty would cost a smidge under £2400 for a year's named component cover and the warranty would need to be taken out before the existing warranty ends in order to avoid paying an increased premium. In short: it's not going to happen. Looks like Warranty Wise still offers the best cover and it can be started up to 30 days after the existing warranty has ended.

thats a shame....did they say what the increase premium is ?

the worth of the warranty is highlighted here

http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=84248

but I understand if your selling it, its money down the drain, unless you increase the asking price to cover it...

I for one would struggle to justify buying an RS 6 at the top end of the market without an Audi warranty....as I know how much they cost to run

Ben,

East Kent Audi are an Inchcape dealer. They gave me a 3 year comprehensive warranty (which certainly covers the most worrisome componants) for under a grand. Well well worth it, and appears to be effectively the same as the offcial Audi warranty, as all work is still carried out by them.

I took this option, and have not seen or hear of anything remotely more competitive.

This seems like an extremely good compramise. Go for it.

if you were gonna go non Audi warranty, I'd go Inchape rather than WarrantyWise, WW dont have a good rep and the RS 6 will use a warranty, no question

This would be worth it, even for the seller. Might not get the full cost back but i'd say put the price of the car up by £700 - 800. Would make it more sellable (is that even a word?)
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.

Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

Cheers Gents. The Inchcape warranty almost sounds too good to be true.....or as good as spending a grand on insurance/warranties will ever sound. I will investigate this option further.

You can't get an inchape warranty unless you purchased the car from the inchcape dealer AND have the car service there.
The rules changed recently unfortunately.
(Due to a thread on here I was told... the phones were ringing off the hook and inchcape had to bring in the extra conditions for RS6s.)
