Engine Management Light

Post by dannynobbs » Sun Mar 14, 2010 7:00 pm

Hi guys,
A quick, and im sure quite easy question for you....the fan is staying on for 3-4 minutes (even if the car has just been ticking over without moving).
I think this is the coolant sensor which needs replacing, from what i have read on here, but the engine management light is also on......would this be connected and hence be part of the same issue?
I know this will be a trip to Audi to check codes etc, but any thoughts?
Cheers in advance,
Danny

Could be the temp sensor or the fan control unit ..
See if you can find a indi who can plug it in for you ..

The temperature sender is cheap. The fan control unit is expensive :) Vagcom will tell yuo which one is playing up.

Also, the temp sender won't cause the CEL to come on. I'd be surprised if the fan control unit does, too.
