Brake Fade.

Post by Knutts » Fri Feb 19, 2010 1:27 pm

Had some major issues with overheating brakes and brake fade at a driving expeirence yesterday. See previous post.

The OEM brakes were not up to the job. What upgrades do people recommend? Will drilled discs help or do I need something more?

Do you have the phaeton cooling ducts upgrade?
Grizz offers an upgrade for the discs to C6 size, which uses a bracket to move the existing caliper out and therefore use the original pads. Probably the cheapest option.
Have you changed your fluid recently? It should be changed every 2 years, I had much improved pedal feel after mine was done.

Everything is standard and the brake fluid was changed within the last year.

As I said on your other post Knutts, I use ATE super blue fluid as it's much better than stock and as Grizz says fit the Phaeton cooling ducts.
