The top one a TVS cars is 10 mins away from me. I went and looked at the red one but they are a pretty wierd set up. They won't budge on their prices and get service work done in house even when they say audi have/ will do it
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

hi Rol

have they got one for sale? i have tried to google that name and nothing comes back?

i have found these though...

http://www.autologix.co.uk/html_files/stock.html this has had a remap to 530 bhp; i was ideally after an unmodded one but is getting one that has been modded engine wise a bad thing?

http://www.marcusfothergill.co.uk these guys have got one but again a remap? apparently has had the drc replaced with more DRC and the remap was done by DMS i think or something like that, also had a 4 k gearbox overhaul...belts not due for another 20k miles

all thoughts appreciated.....

Well both seem to be claiming 530BHP but both look to be on standard exhaust - so to quote my mate Victor "I simply don't believe it!!"

I know you have decided on a RS 6 now but a big factor for me when deciding which to buy was that the B5 A4 which is what the RS 4 is based on came with a 2* NCAP rating, which is pretty bad to be fair, its something I always take into account. I would love that manual though.

hi dave, as i am a person who doesnt know the marque very well, is that a common mod? and am i assuming that to have this done you would have to have a different exhaust on it? should i be worried about this sort of mod as i would have thought that it would have put undue stress on the engine and gearbox that it was not built to take.
cheers

i have listed some likely suspects below so any comments welcomed, has anyone seen or know any of the cars?....i would look to get money knocked off for any cars that have not had the drc replaced, what sort of numbers is it for a straight forward set up?

i think that i would need to get from a dealer aswell as i would want to use finance to get the car, i could though buy private if the deal was attractive enough.

thanks for your continuing help.
The 2nd one is sold, and I have been to see the last one. Its not bad, for the money. Good genuine car, but quite well used, would need a little tidying.

hi dave, as i am a person who doesnt know the marque very well, is that a common mod?
Very briefly:
Stage 1 = ECU reprogramming will give up to 500BHP - not much more - box needs care with a TCU remap also.
Stage 2 = Stage 1 plus modified exhaust (decatting) to get to 530-550BHP
Stage 3 = all the above plus modified turbo's additional cooling etc

Tuners regularly recommended round here are MTM (via QST), MRC, and CC (via Unit 20 or others) - take a look at their sites to get more background - for example as at least one of the cars mentioned MTM see http://www.qstuning.com/display.php?mak ... &engine=54 . To get to 535 the cars have modded exhaust, but from the pictures they are on standard tailpipes - hence my comment!

Cheers

It certainly looks nice in the photo's.... but as I say I am pretty sure it's on a standard exhaust so I don't buy the "530BHP" claim, and I notice also he talks about "Memory Function" on the seats - this was only available in the US.

So, my impression is that he doesn't really know what he's got - it may be fantastic, or it may be a dog - only way to tell is to go and look, and then when it turns out only to be stage 1 tuned and no memory, you have two great points to start haggling!
