RS6 central locking fault

Post by emjay » Mon Dec 07, 2009 12:47 pm

A problem with my RS6 reared its ugly head last night. All the turn signal lamps came on, the central locking doesn't work and neither do the interior lamps, any ideas as to what is causing it? I've checked all the fuses and there all ok

Difficult to say. Weird that the signal lamps came on. It sounds like your alarm triggered and your siren is dead (most of them are - just changed mine). Were they flashing? Or on continuously?

If you have access to a vagcom, that will give you a pretty good indiciation of what the problem is.

This happened to me when the rear footwell got very damp during a rainstorm some weeks ago.

Interesting. THis is where the infamous canbus comms module resides? Does anyone have a part number for it? Or photo? I'm interested in finding out more about it.
