Needed a new tyre........

Post by martian » Thu Dec 11, 2003 5:07 pm

sorted Conti Sport 2 for me- £90.00 cheaper than Audi and also Kwikfit- who I think are a rip-off.
Called me back to ask if beemer or RS6 as apparently the tyre being fitted is a specific compound for the RS6.
Very impressed with the service and price- even more impressed if they turn up on Monday

Sounds good, £90 isn't to be sniffed at. Last time I paid around £200 a corner for CSC2s, so if they could give a good price on all four, so much the better!

I think the RS 6 requires "Extra Load" tyres - stronger sidewalls and more Nylon/Rayon radial bands in it I think. It's required because the cornering G the RS 6 can produce (especially for something so portly) is a bit too much for regular CSC2s to handle!

My dealer aren't too bad. They didn't used to have the ability to fit to 18"+ wheels, so used to use a local tyre shop and pass the cost straight through.

I once had to pay £250 a corner at a local tyre place for CSC2s when there was a dearth of Extra Load 255/35R19s in the country, but most of that extra cost was because they were driven over 100 miles one morning so I could get them next day.
