If the GTR is full of "Japanese efficiency," then isn't the RS6 full of "German" efficiency. This should be a compliment to both cars.

I think both cars are completely different animals, but if I wanted a mad, fast, crazy and fun car, I'd have to go for the GTR. If I wanted a daily driver that was comfy, quick and understated, I'd go for the RS6.

Understated?! People literally stop what they are doing and turn around to point and gasp everytime the RS6 drives past! Mainly blokes unfortunately!

To compare them equally including their price tags, you gotto compare the V10 RS6 with the GTR....

..I'd take the C6 everytime ;)

And I thought the RS6 was bad... What a shocking story.

My RS6 turbo'd S4 (530hp, 600lb/ft) was royally spanked by a gtr up at Crail. A full second in it over the quarter. Saying that my MAF was donald ducked and it was my first day on a drag strip so launches werent brilliant and his was mapped (to 700ish hp and 600ish lb/ft) and launch mode thing on full.

He running more power and same torque and you were surprised that he beat you...?

The GTR is sportier, no surprises there. The RS6 is far more practical. If he wins a straight line or on the twisties, then fair cop. Ask him to throw his keys away, the next test is simple, load the car up with 5 adults and their luggage and drive to the south of France for a weeks skiing. Then stand back and watch the fight as people clamber into the 6.
OR
A saturday shopping experience at Asda, fill a trolley full of shopping and load it into the car with 2 adults and 2 kids
OR
Get three suitcases + buggy etc and 2 adults and 2 kids into the car and head away on holiday....

It is horses for courses. If I was 21 with no kids and needed something to go like a touring car all the time with no luggage space, fuel economy, comfort (at normal speeds), for everyone to think I was a complete charver <beep> and in a car that was embarassing to have any female in, I'd choose the GTR all day long.
