Need some advice

Post by B17NME » Fri Oct 09, 2009 12:54 am

Just had to do a run on the motorway and noticed the car started to shake as if the wheel balancing was out.Pulled over on the hard shoulder to check that none of the wheels were lose or anything but it all looked ok.Now the car wont go over 40 without vibrating and shaking all over the place and if i just let it drive on idle the steering wheel will move left to right.Has anyone else expierenced this or know what it might be.
Many thanx

The only time I have had this was when I had hit a pothole and buckled the inside rim of 2 of the wheels badly. You will need to get each wheel off or take it to your local kiwkfit or similar to check. And while you are at it jack the car up (on a level surface without the handbrake being on) and see if each of the wheels has any play.

Sure its not just that some of the balancing weights have come off?

Got it checked out and the tyre had bubbled up badly on the inside. No sign of it being hit or wacking a pot hole. Got them fitted at audi about 5months ago.Spoke to them and they want me to come in with my original reciept proving i bought them from them(funny that as they can check it on there system)and the tyre and then they will check to see if it is a faulty tyre then send it away.Seems abit long winded so should i just take it up with the manufacturer myself or just forget about it which is hard as iv just had to cough up £195 for another Conti.
