Put a set of Aero wiper arms on it the blades are much cheaper.

Got mine from Grizz at Unit 20 for about £60 including Two arms and blades.

They work much better than the original ones.

Can You hear any knocking noise from the CV joint ? If not then the joint just needs repacking with grease and a new boot.

Any decent garage should be able to do that job in an hour plus £12.00 for the boot.

Thats got to be cheaper than the £237.00 (Probably Ex Vat too) that Audi want to rip You off for !

Some of the sensors you can get to if you have the patience but some require the bumper off

Ah I see. Bit more involved then! I guess as they have said it needs 2 sensors they know which ones have failed. Sods law dictates its the ones which can't be got at easily!

If the sensors have been offline since you have had the car, it indicates that you are not missing them.
I would therefore be spending the cash elsewhere, ie on the more pressing items.

I am missing my RS6 but threads like this (and the cash I am accumulating) makes it seem worthwhile for the moment!

Its much eaier to get the bumper off and do them, but that's not a difficult job.

1. Use VCDS to work out which need replacing.
2. Order 2 new sensors.
3. Paint new sensors.
4. Strip boot lining and get bumper off.
5. Reassemble.

The only tricky bit I find is the striker bolts for the rear seat backs. ;-)

they key here is to have a warranty, preferably Audi

then you can just enjoy the car and dont look at the till when it comes to brakes and tyres

When mine failed (seems to be quite common), I replaced it myself with one that I got from eBay.. for a tenner.

It's cheaper to just keep reversing into stuff.

I bought one for my B5 S4 when it went wrong - it was the multiplexing one with the TV antenna also as my car had that feature and brand new the part was £98. I fitted it myself in 15 mins.

Well....the update...I got my car back from Audi a couple weeks ago, ended up just getting the service/MOT done with just enough to get it through, for the bargain price of a grand...

60,000 mile inspection £262
Oilfilter £13
Pollenfilter £26
Engineoil (8@£15 each) £120
MOT £54
Drive Shaft Outer Joint Gater £206
CVBoot £31
Putting a bit of oil on a stiff door handle £28 (cheeky f*ckers)
Telling me what I knew already about Sat Nav and Rear parking sensors not working (I said I thought that was also a bit cheeky since I had already told them it wasn't working, they reckoned they had to hook it up to a computer etc to check it) £41
1 rear tyre £291

Now its out of Audi's hands and on the way to Grizz to get the DRC replaced with something else, and the rest of the stuff fixed. Sweet. The service was so p*ss poor at Audi, never returning my calls etc, they didn't even tell me the two front tyres were right on the 1.6mm legal minimum, they had merely suggested I replace them...so naturally wasn't too pleased when I saw that when I picked it up. Anyway, that's the last time I go to an official Audi place to get anything done. Also, how much to get a spare key? I can't remember now exactly what the guy quoted me, but it was in the region of £150 + another £100 or so to code the spare keys together or something like that. Seem fair?

It just makes me really angry, why do tney feel the need to do it, unfortunatoley for everyone of us who are wise there is one who will get fucked by Audi. Makes me <beep>. C*nts.

£291 for 1 tyre?!
£28 for oil to a handle?!
£41 for telling you about satnav & sensors not working?! WHY when you told them they didn't work?!

Why pay these prices??? Should have told them to go F&CK. How much oil is needed for a stiff door handle?!

£291 for 1 tyre? Why didn't you just search around and get a tyre for almost half that cost, and ask them to fit it for a tenner ?!!

As has been mentioned if people are going to pay their costs, they're gonna keep on charging accordingly. No offence intended, but jeez...

Stumpy I hear you...all I can say is I'm no mechanic and have no clue as to costs etc...my only other experiences with tyres were 1 from Kwikfit on my M3 that cost 250+ and one at a different Audi dealer that was about the same price as here...and in fairness it was in for an MOT that had expired months previously, and needed the new tyre to pass it, so I didn't even have the option of driving it out the place to go elsewhere. And if I'd asked them to fit a tyre for a tenner I'm sure I'd have been laughed out the place.

I did try calling them to stop the service after I had a far better offer elsewhere, but the f*ckers didn't even return my calls. So all I can do is try and find a better option by putting up the dets on this board!! Living in Central London and working Monday-Friday makes it difficult to go shopping around, especially when frankly I don't know what I'm doing!
