RS6 - BMW M5 - Forgot to ask about Mercedes E55 AMG (to 2004

The reviews all make the E55 AMG fastest but has anyone lived with one to give me an objective view

The M5 does get great reviews and I must say its look appeals in an understated way

But the RS6 is a beast!

Any thoughts on an E55 AMG welcomed

Trying to find someone who has lived with an E55 AMG - being "fastest" is not my reason for buying a new toy

Three choices me thinks - RS6/E39M5/E55AMG

lol, i like. e55 is super quick but when it rains and it will then its r to the power of 6!!

I've driven one, it didn't feel noticeably quicker than my standard car.

One thing I noticed though: the RS6 felt really solid in comparison on the drive home.

The E55 is quicker in a straight line. My brother in law had one (which was stock) and was out against my old RS6 saloon (again stock) on a 'private road'. He was always a car length in front - but big deal. He couldn't drive the E55 in the rain as he'd clearly die a terrible death. And long story short he's now looking for an Rs6.

What's a car length between friends?!

PS - the V8's didn't half make some noise on the private road. And I'm all for the joys of 4 wheel drive....makes me look a better driver!
