ABT Upgrade....

Guys

Have a worry. Had the barge for 4 weeks, and am keen to get the upgrade. Any up to date comments about ABT U.K. service, resulting performance, and Audi U.K's silly attitude toward warranty violations?

Also, have been reading threads on performance. I find it's roadholding superb when booting around our local B raods. The best part is when 4 up, no one complains about hetting car sick. The ride is great for a family. Let's face it, we get the best of both worlds with the 6!! [img]images/graemlins/burnout.gif[/img]

As far as I know Abt is an Audi-approved modification and therefore does not invalidate the warranty.

I think "Dave" had the Abt remap so perhaps he could offer some first hand advice.

Hey Pete,

A guy called Dave who's around sometimes that had the Abt chip installed through his dealer, and he says they told him that warranty wouldn't be a problem. It's something to do with some deal Abt and Audi UK have, or something like that. Check out rs6.com and search for Abt and warranty - lots of info floating around there, including me p***ing off Nordschleife a bit about some confusion over Europe/UK... Sorry Nordschleife.

Anyway, Dave says the Abt upgrade makes a big difference. Perhaps he'll wander by and confirm, otherwise you might find him over on rs6.com or more likely tyresmoke.net.

I have ANOTHER email with my contact at Audi UK at the moment about many things but it includes the issue of Abt and warranties. EVERY time I have asked this before I have got the same answer. The last email on this said :

At present we do not promote or warranty any suspension or ecu modification, or wheels with offsets outside factory fitted perameters.

The only ABT items we do promote, in which the warranty is covered in agreement between ABT and ourselves is body styling and a few wheels

This was from the 15th September.

Many people claim that there is a warranty but no one has ever shown me or quoted any paper work to prove it. It you are buying Abt, don't expect the effect on warranty to be any different to any other tuner.
