RS6 Plus

Post by MalcolmSu » Mon Apr 06, 2009 10:04 pm

Anyone recall what the reserve was on this the last time it was up for sale? I had it in mind that the owner said it was £32k and it didn't reach that. Not that I'm interested in buying... :)

I love picture 12 in the listing by the way! :D

I'm not a big fan of the colour of the leather. Was that a standard colour option?
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Was for a plus - Black with Cognac leather and Piano inserts
(the other two standard colours being Silver with Black/Black Half Leather/Alcantara and Alloy inserts or Sprint Blue with Black/Silver Half Leather/Alcantara and Carbon inserts).

Personally I love it, but it is a colour combo that will divide opinion - you'll either love it or hate it.

Yup, 32k :)

I love the leather too, a real touch of class in my humble opinion

My Plus is the silver with alloy inserts. The trim by the gear lever is plain (quite plain) black plastic type stuff. To me it looks as bit low rent compared to the rest of the interior.

should it be like this?

I suppose if it was alloy, then it wouldn't contrast with the alloy round the gear indicator assembly very well...

What do you think?

^^^^Not alot. Just that traditionally the younger generation like sportier or more appealing colours. Don't get me wrong, i don't dislike the colour of that leather, in fact i like it. Its just that it has a sense of 'old mans arm chair' about it.

Cognac leather is much more appealing when seen in real life. My '6 has it and wouldn't want another colour, although the aluminium trim needs to go IMO.

TBH I would agree with corey , I like the cognac trim. The 6+ i've got to break has it so i'll fit it in mine...

I don't doubt that its a very nice addition to a fantastic car. I really like the colour and it adds an air of superiority to it. Just personal opinion on the 'mature (not old) driver' appeal thats all.
