Is the number of owners important for resale?

Post by Bieldside » Sat Apr 04, 2009 6:22 pm

Still looking for a good RS6 Saloon

Have seen advertised a good car - current Audi warranty in place - 2003 car with 53000 miles . Drawback - 4 owners , so I would be number 5

Come resale time , would you be put off by being number 6

Always prefer low owner cars but it may be that RS6's change hands a higher rate than other marques

Thanks

I'm 4th owner, and i noticed that all the cars i looked when purchasing had more than usual ownership. Same as when i bought my previous car an M5 they seem to be the same. History a must though.

Mine was 1 previous owner, but that was a rare find.

I agree, History is more important than number of owners.

On a side note, prior to the RS, I was looking at M3 CSL's -they also had more owners. The one I looked at had 6.

cant see that it matters to be honest. Prestige and sporty cars seem to change hands more often as they tend to be owned by people who like to change regulary (or so it seems!)

Was this the one at BHP?

I would be more interested in how long the previous owner had it. If only a very short time perhaps there is a problem?
