Audi Service! How much!?!?!

Post by ibby » Thu Mar 19, 2009 11:24 pm

Ok so was out and about today and by chance passed guildford audi, so I popped into for a browse and to ask a price for the next service.

So an 04 with 27k on the clock

The guy said give me a couple of minutes and came back with this print out which read

Extended service £383.65
Replace spark plugs £192.88
Replace fuel filter £33.10
disposal charge £13.66
Oil top up pack £18.40

Total inc VAT £641.69

Is it me or does this seem a little pricey?

I'd try Camberley - Guildford do not have a great reputation round here. Ask for Rob or Martin and mention the forums and they'll treat you royally.

Can't see why they are quoting you an extended service at 27K (preumably it was done at 20K). Plugs should also have been done at 20K, so why new ones now??

If your not tied to the stealers, then MRC or Grizz.......

Yes it is (over) pricey.

Unit 20 or MRC are your friends. ;-)

As Dave says, plugs are every 20k.

Yep, my 30k service at Worcester Audi didnt need plugs and was £298.73 inc vat all in (Originally got quoted £295+vat from but got a further discount when picked the car up which was a surprise).
Worth ringing around different dealers as Tetbury Audi quoted me approx £500+vat for the same service

Well the guy said the price included a 10% discount on parts and labour. I didnt no wether to laugh or say thanks so I just made a sort of hmmm sound and walked away.

Not sure if I'm tied to Audi for servicing. Gonna have to check with warranty direct as I'd rather my car was in the hands of grizz or MRC.

Does anyone with a warranty direct policy no if I'm tied down with Audi servicing?

I'm with WD this year and no longer tied to Audi.
To be honest myself I'll still get my basic service at Audi to keep the service book stamped until the car gets high mileage, but for all other work or servicing it will be going up to Grizz at Unit 20

Do all the bits yourself bar the oil change
Wack a couple of bottles of Mobil 1 on your passenger seat, with an OEM oil filter and sump plug
Drive into the dealer
Pay half an hour labour.
60 quid later, job done and book stamped ;)

FASH - cheap as chips !

Do you reckon I could do that at the slough dealership? Would be handy as Grizz is nearly a 4 hour drive away.

Fontain want £510 with spark plugs £450 without

Slough happily did all my RS's like this but otherwise they are tw@ts.
Aylesbury are the best and theyre not too far. Worth the drive plus they work shifts so open from 7 till 7pm.

Spoke to Rob at Camberly Audi which was a breath of fresh air finally speaking to someone that knew what they were doing. Quoted me £357 with a brake fluid change as my car missed this on its 20k service.

Used my registration to bring up all the details of previous work done on the car so could tell me exactly what it did and didn't need.

Strange that Guildford couldn't do this as they looked after the car for last 2 major services.

I have to say that Camberly's as well as Robs reputation still holds up.
