RS6 PLus Wheel Colour Options

Post by chriswebb9 » Wed Jan 28, 2009 11:55 pm

Hello readers,

I'm not trying to convince anyone that this is the perfect match, but anyone who has fancied the RS6 + 's Titan grey wheels on their cars, may well be interested in this option.

I priced up a set of 4 new genuine alloys, along with the tyre pressure sensors & centre caps for my car via my local dealer. The cost for these excluding tyres got very close to £4,000!

I want to change the image of my standard wheels, because when I bought the car from my dealer, they had used a sub-contractor to just spray the wheels silver to cover wear n tear marks and clean up the inner walls etc. The job is naff and has bugged me ever since. However, I'm now on the cusp of needing new tyres and thought you like to know about a cheaper option you could explore.

There's a TVR dealer in Ash Vale, Hampshire, called Racing Green. If you go on their parts side of their website, you'll be able to view T350 model cars spares. Wander down to the wheels they offer and you'll find 3 colour options - Silver, Shadow Chrome and Anthracite. If you look at the image attached, I think you'll find that the Anthracite is jolly close to the Audi Titan Grey and certainly dark enough to fool most.

My point is that for approx £80 per wheel, Racing Green TVR will take your wheel and send it off to their refurbishers, who will clean up any kerb contact, or tyre bay marks and then apply the paint and finish off by stove enamelling the paint. I think that this is reasonable for the amount of work and the end result. I dare say they can match other colours / shades of grey for you if you ask.

I'm going to have mine done, as I've seen the work they've done and I feel that the darker wheels will mask the sheer amount of brake dust that quickly accrues to the silver RS6 wheels.

I hope this is of use to somebody out there. If you need more info, you can of course get in touch with Racing Green TVR, or mail me back. Although mailing me at RIZ@SUPANET.COM may get a faster response.

Regards,
