DRC - Thread for more suitable name with that acronym

Post by MoRS6+ » Thu Dec 18, 2008 3:11 pm

Cornishmoocher posted: ...oh, and my car is a thousand times more drivable with the H&R's on it than it ever was, even with the Doesn't Ride Control working. Which made me lol a bit.

We all know that DRC stands for Dynamic Ride Control, but thus far, the only thing dynamic about it has been it's ability to empty peoples wallets and cause a great deal of inconvenience and emotional distress. So I thought I'd start a thread for all those infuriated people that have had DRC problems and need some kind of outlet to relieve the pain (or re-live the pain in some people's cases!).

I'll start with a basic one and try to get a bit more creative later on.

DRC = Dreadful ride control

Given that mine has recently failed again, and that it is most noisy in the morning when the car is cold, I renamed it

Sorry, pet hate of mine, but DRC isn't an acronym.

Actually, you're right. It is an abbreviation as DRC doesn't form a pronouncable word as such. I honestly just thought it was the term to describe an abbreviation consisting of the first letters of each word, but I was wrong. Those letters must make another word sort of. Hey, I've learnt something today! (Is that learnt or learned?! :wink: )

To be fair, if you do try to pronounce DRC as a word, it sounds a lot like the sound it makes when it's failed..
