Radio Issues

Post by Shaggy » Sun Jul 06, 2008 7:49 pm

Got some radio issues on my 04 RS6. (Hi all, been off the forums due to marriage split and work)

I have notcied over the last month or so the Radio is not getting a good signal, the CD player also seemed to not work at various times (No CD recognised) over the last few days everytime i turn the radio on it asks for a code, i out it in and get no signal from stations. CD does not work at all and I have no TV

Any ideas?

i assue its a symphony unit? most likely one of the connector blocks at the car is dodgy (the unit is losing power repeatedly). if you have 4 removal tools, it's a straight-forward exercise to remove the unit and check.

Makes sense. When putting in CD mode the power seems to cut in and out. Is it expensive? Loose connection? Seemed to happen after it was in for a service.

any instructions on how to check?

My Radio/cd occasionally cuts in and out for a split second, like when you start up the car or something. Its as if a cd jumps but it also does it on the radio. I wonder if it could be that connection thingy previously mentioned or whether the sat nav or traffic settings are causing it to happen.??

mines a 54plate avant

Any ideas? thanks

as noted above, you need to have specific radio removal tools. they are thin metal keys. without them you are sool. with them (you need 4) the unit will slide out, and you ill find the connector block at the back. there is not a lot of room in there so things can work loose. if you don't have the removal tools, they are $20 from a specialist.
