A/C Problem

Post by justinthyme » Sun Mar 30, 2008 5:35 am

I think I have a problem with my A/C. Was not blowing as cold as it should a few months back. Had it regassed and all seemed ok. Now the passenger side is blowing as cold as normal but driver's side is quite a lot warmer (not hot, but the difference is very obvious) Dealer says it is a big job as they will need to remove dash etc. Anyone ever experienced this?

Sorry no, but have had it re-gassed previously which certainly gives new lease of life.

If its failing on the zoning aspect, I would have thought its the AC control on the dash thats your problem... probably checkable on a VAGcom to save dragging your dash out?

agree with the vag-com bit. chances are that it is a stepper motor used to control the various vents. if so it should be logged. perhaps even re-doing basic settings on the various motors will help.
