Where to get the DRC replaced?

Post by DrB » Thu Oct 04, 2007 8:16 pm

I am continuing to have problems with the DRC. Is there someone in the North or in Scotland who has experience in fitting the bilstein pss9 coilovers?

Is that all you have to do to replace the DRC? Do you not lose the anti-roll benefit? Are there any other alternatives?

i'm also thinking of replacing the DRC with bilstein or kw, but just wanted to know if you take off the (air/oil) tanks, when you fit the coilovers. i don't have a problem with them yet, but willing to do the job for safety and comfort of mind. DR b, if you do find anyone in the north of scotland to do the job , let me know. Or i might give it a go myself (engineer by trade).

Aberdeen Volkswagen Centre agreed to do the work. (I spoke to Neil - 6 hours labour £300). They were thinking of the Bilsteins over the KWs. Star Performance would also have done it but Jim preferred the KWs.
In the end I have managed to get Audi Customer services to cough up 40% of the overall costs + warranty direct, so I am having the DRC fixed. (After, it will have a 2 year warranty on its parts). It didn't make finacial sense to pay £1600 to change the DRC to aftermarket suspension. (At the moment anyway!)

Me too. It's a good setup. You can leave the central valves on if you want, doesn't really save much weight. :-)
