Yes will be selling the 330d. Quite close to potential a purchase, should find out tomorrow / sat if its going to go ahead. Was then going to put mine on auto t. Logistically it could be quite tricky as I am based in London howver I happen to be at Gleneagles tomorrow (without car though), is that anywhere near you?!

Think we could have a problem on price differential as I am currently looking at sub £30k cars. Lets see how I get on with the one I have already seen. Like the idea of a private swap though, a rare trade!

Fair enough, but I agree about a private swap - removes any trade getting their cut!

Hi Patrick - the 335d is fantastic! Handles better than the RS6, more nimble, 35mpg average and peanuts to insure. 0-100mph in just under 14secs and enormous torque (428 ib/ft), so in give and take driving on UK roads there really isn't much in it, though obviously less outright thrust when raggin'it. The soundtrack is good for a diesel, but no patch on a V8 of course! Interior feels more modern, but outright quality not so high (plastic rather than aluminium door handles etc) and room in the back and the boot is obviously less.

PM me if you want any more info so as not to take this thread too far off-topic.

Cheers,

Gary.

Planning on dropping the price by £1500 - should that be sufficient?

(nervously putting my finances into complete strangers   )

At risk of going off topic some more I came from a 530d to the RS6. The 3 series it tiny (comparing Touring/Avant models here) so I decided to go with the 5 when I was buying. It was a cracking car but very different to the RS6 in virtually everything but size. Anyone going from an x30d to an RS6 needs to prepare for getting to know the local filling station staff a lot better :D
