I had ISOFIX retrofitted to both m Rs4 and Allroad so no problems. YOu have the part numbers now. I use a towel under and behind the seats. (Britex ISOFIX duo)
Isofix is easy to click in and out and is safer (when combined ) than the stock seatbelt fixation Yoko

I bought a heavy duty protective rubber seat overlay from Mothercar (approx. £20). This will protect the seat from indentations and scuff marks, and is easy to clean when your baby wants to throw up all over the car. The main reason I also bought it was I found that with leather seats the baby seats tend to slide around on the leather, and this provides alot more grip.

Also, the mat is designed in such a way that it still has access to the ISOFIX points

Just picked up my car from Glasgow Audi. They retrofitted the isofix fittings to BOTH sides of the rear seat. Total cost £134 +VAT.

Due to impending parenthood (well early'ish next year) I've had the isofix retro-fitted to my saloon ... you were spot on with your part numbers Peter :D. Total cost to me was £117 inc VAT.

Anybody recommend a baby and/or child seat that fulfills the following criteria:

- Is safe
- Fits the bucket seats in the rear
- Looks good with a black leather interior

Wolverine - any chance you can send a pic of the rubber seat overlay so I know what I'm looking for.

Many thanks,

Rich.

We have Isofix on both cars front and rear certainly one of the reasons why I got vehicle, works a treat and certainly the safest way to travel with your children. I use the the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix with easyfix base have the same in wifes car (base) 2-3 seconds to remove car seat. The Maxi-Cosi car seat works with the Bugaboo with car seat adapters, I think you need to match seat to Buggy.

I have the same with the easyfix base - although we use it with the ZAP.

Rich .... its called NeatSeat and available from good Mothercare stores. Its basically a very heavy duty rubber overlay mat. Works really well, and properly protects the seats from damage. Well worth it IMHO (even though at £21 its sounds like a rip-off for a piece of rubber! ... an I had to buy two coz of twins!)

I've just used some blankets which I generally keep in the boot which work fine after a day or two the imprint has gone.

Thanks for the input guys ... like the look of the Mothercare mat although I'll check out what Halford's have to offer as well by comparison. Not sure I'd get sign off from the Mrs for use of other alternative products (e.g. blankets) ... as I'm discovering, the baby business is great for extracting cash out of new parents ... plenty of profit added on to basic articles which you're obliged to buy just because it has a sticker on saying "safe for children" ... in other words being guilted into buying otherwise you think your a bad parent ... by the time junior arrives I think the house will have been internally bubble wrapped!!!

Anyway, off to scan some other websites for nice looking car seats and other baby products ... what happened to being men and talking about bhp and intercoolers and stuff?

Rich, what about a turbocharged remapped Recaro baby seat

Think of all those baby tune mp3's you'll be adding to your Phatbox

Just become the proud owner of RS6 courtesy of (former?) member rs6express. I'm not sure if he is going to have as much fun with his new house extension as I'm having with his old motor! Guess I'll have to upgrade my username!

But now to join the sad brigade discussing Isofix car seats!

Anyone any recommendations for Group 1 (9-18kg) Isofix seats for the Recaro seats in the back of my RS6. My existing Britax Duo Isofix doesn't fit well.

I thought ISOFIX mountings were standard in an RS6. I presume you've checked for them?

Apparently not on 2003 cars - i have "had a feel" through the gap and the loop / bar thing isn't there. The parts are £40 per side and each side is apprently 1.5hrs labour which is approx £180 per side. What really upsets me is not this wasn't standard when my car was made, it's that the stealers try to tell you they think it MUCH safer if they do the work - after all this is child safety after all. Unless I am seriously underestimating how difficult it will be to get the back seats out and back in, i really think i back myself to do up some bolts....

£360 for three hours work which will (in all likelyhood) take a lot less time - that's almost as much of a rip off as a new battery...
