RS6 Abt chip fitting offer.

Post by Dave » Tue Apr 29, 2003 7:07 pm

My local dealers (Carrs of Truro, Cornwall) fitted my Abt chip to my RS6. They are a superb outfit and are car fans like us.

When i was down there today they were so pleased with the transformation of my RS6 that they said that they are willing to convert any other RS6's to Abt RS6's just for the cost of the chip,

in other words, they will not charge any labour charges or other charges. This saved me at least £750 and from my worst quote £1250

If you want anymore information then ring Steve at Carr's Audi on Truro 01872 520789 . He organised my car and is a top chap. He actually races cars in his spare time so he's a bit hot behind the wheel.

All the best.. and can I reccomend it.. of course. It's the best money I've spent in ages.

Cheers

Did you speak to Steve Hall?

If not I'll get the deal for you
The cost of the chip is £3000.. most people will charge you around £3750 to £4000.

JEAAUUSSUSSS !!!

That is one expensive chip !!
Sounds like a classic case of 'if you can afford the car, you can afford the mods...'

Ouch. I know they probably had to invest a lot of time in developing this, but it still sounds like a hell of a lot of money to me to change an engine map. You could spend a week on a rolling road developing your own for less than that !

LOL... yes about 5% of the valuve of the car.. what you are paying for with Abt is your warranty..

With the Abt chip (in the UK at least) you get full warranty protection with their chip.. that is worth the extra for someone in my position.
MTM's chip is £1800 but you are on your own if a turbo blows.. (which I must add is fairly unlikely beacuse they are all mapped with tolerences allowed)

It's hard to come by so spend it like you mean it

I suppose the peace of mind helps soften the blow (job), but not by much...

btw like your tag line. You could modify it to 'spend it before you've got it'
