The warranty Direct policy says they will only cover if the breakdown takes place in the UK or Ireland. Does this mean if your gearbox blows on holiday in France you are excluded? Seems a bit harsh.

Also it says that the maximum age of the vehicle to start Platinum cover is 2 years!

For JobQ. Interested to read re your suspension. My 6 is 2003 and 54k, is about to have all what you had.Three new strut inserts , valves and most of the rest. All under Audi extended warranty thankfully. I have asked to have the last unit replaced for which I will pay. It worries me with the changes --NSF/OSR are linked so if these replaced car would be unbalanced. So all 4 will be new. On a standard car I usually had 2 rears or two fronts - only a wally would have single units done certainly I never skimped on the M5. Just concerned that on a car capable of ??185 mph diagonals are only replaced. What do the more mechanical/ race tuned 'owners' feel about my concerns. Also I have just had 4 Continentals for £480 fitted and the n/s front was worn to !!! the canvas on the inner edge[ holy s--t] I never could see. Should electronic/laser tracking be regularly done by Audi at the services as 455 or + BHP needs to be safe on the road. Yes, the speed limit is 70 but how many of us have risked the Rozzers and given the 6 a burst for some miles.

Does it not seem terrible to every RS6 owner that the suspension is a bit like a Nokia phone? Lasts 'till the end of the warranty then packs up. In the USA I read that the government body in charge of things like crap cars is looking into the DRC problem and may issue a recall notice. Pity our watchdogs have no teeth!

Maximum age for platinum is usually 2 years, but I was able to negotiate. I wanted to see the policy in writing before i posted this. (Which I have).

You are covered abroad for a period of time.
