Even if I was a mechanic I wouldn't change the RS6 cambelt myself whilst its all still under the original warranty... Would be good if I could do more myself though, am always up for a challenge but I think that working on the beast would be a bridge too far for my basic mechanical skills.

Post by shimmy » Mon Jun 19, 2006 11:08 am

i have been hunting for a best porice for cambelt, major service and mot and getting quotes for around £1450 (worst £1600 Hitchin)

Best so far is Beford with £550 service, £850 cambelt inc tensioners plus MOT all inc vat and parts/labour.

still trying a couple more but has anybody got any good tips on dealers north london to Northampton area where this could be bettered.

hold on a moment. Hatfield Audi have just come in with a very tempting offer of £2110 all inc. That is £720 service, £1350 cambelt and £44 MOT.

Very tempting!!

yes I spend most of my life being sarcastic I think and this is no exception.

On the post above I have shoiwn the cheaper quotes from others and this one came last and highest as you can see.

I just need to check the Hitchin quote now to see if it includes al I need then off to book it in and spend some well earned money.

It still amazes me how Audi prices can vary so much from garage to garage .... really dilutes the *Audi experience* for me.

I used Dulwich Audi for my cambelt btw. Wimbledon, Epsom, Croydon, and Crawley all tried to bend me over
