Cant you pay to activate if the car is stolen?

Ring Tracker pay then ask for it to be tracked?

Sorry if this sound cheap but any in depth knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks

No, I've heard that Tracker will refuse the request to activate after the theft has occured - if you think about it, you can undertand their point of view!

The RS6 I have was never fitted with a tracker by Audi Australia.
The local dealer is not familiar with the Audi tracker/monitor unit.
One concern is that an add on tracker unit may interfere with the nav+.
I have not heard any complaints from forum posters so assume the tracker signal does not interfere with the nav+.

any advice appreciated.

The tracking device is not an Audi part as such, its from an independant company that cover the UK and Europe, although the Audi network dealers are authorised installers of the units: http://www.tracker.co.uk/home.php?SVR , I do not know what frequency the unit works on and whether its digital or analogue but it does'nt interfere with anything like the Navigation or Mobiles etc.

I was told that all RS6+ cars had trackers. I spoke to a number of insurance companies and all of them clearly stated, no tracker no insurance.

Tracker Retrieve was something offered by Audi UK, as a dealer fit, no cost, option, with upgrades to Monitor or Horizon available as cost options. So, other markets won't have got the Tracker, but most UK-supplied RS6s will have a Tracker fitted.

All remember Tracker can be picked up by every Rozzer patrol in UK and now in parts of Europe. I've seen it at work, live, and its something I would always have on my car. A new Merc with Tracker was found in a container on Felixstowe docks ready for shipping out just 4 hrs after being nicked in London some years ago. Also add Pentagon Supaglass to Tracker Horizon and its virtually thiefproof and Insurance Co friendly !!

How much did that cost? or was it on the car when you purchased.
