Hi - From a new Owner!! - Glasgow

Post by johnnyc75 » Mon May 21, 2012 3:46 pm

Good Afternoon All,

I have just picked up an (03) RS6 - 65k miles. Gearbox and Suspension all new!!, so fingers crossed I can get to drive it for a wee while!!

Got rid of my 530D - needless to say the MPG is slightly less - but it is similiar to my 98 4.0l Jeep Cherokee!! :jump_clap:

Anyhoo, car needs the parking sensor fixed, and it is in for a service, and will prob need new tryes in the next few months..
Next stage is to then see what happens :FIREdevil:
Hopefully go out for a drive with my mate and his S8!! -

My S8 mate tried to talk me out of it as I cant wire a plug, never mind do mechanical stuff!!! But after reading the comments on this forum, I wanted to join a select band of folk.. :beerchug:

I have (tried) to attach a picture, and will put more up once the car has went in to the detailers for a weekend of TLC - hopefully in the next week or 2.

Hopefully you have the patience to deal with the odd idiotic question.. :bash:

Many thanks for all the info to date!!
Johnny

Hi Swanny,

Thanks for the comments!! :bigwave:

The car was based just north of B'ham - but not a FORUM car - although I was looking on here for a wee while :-)
The car comes with a full 3 month warranty too, so will get it fully checked out... :thumb:

Will get some pics up - the interior is a bit grubby - grey leather dirty and seatbelt grime, but my mate came down and tested the paint etc for any crashes / dings etc - NONE to report :-)
The drive back up was sure better than the one on the way down!!
Any advice on ECU upgrades etc will be much appreciated - as this car is for life..not just for summer!!

Johnny

Hi mate,
I am new on here as well but with an allroad.
I used a guy called Stuart up in Stirling (SP Autobahn)for my Revo remap and can highly recommend him. He worked on the car for a good 3 hours just getting it right with the live mapping. He was recommended to me by a forum member over on Audi SRS.
As for your parking sensors If you turn on the ignition and select reverse you will be able to hear the rears clicking away if they are working and obviously the one that aint will be the faulty one. Same goes for the front although mind and have the engine off.
Ta,
Deano.
