Factory fit Car Phone Kit

I took delivery of a RS4 last October in which i had the GSM phone kit installed with a dash mounted cradle. Every time I use the car kit people say they can't hear me or it sounds like i'm speaking in a cave ie very echoey and they can hardly hear me even though I can hear them perfectly. I use a Nokia 6230i.

Has anyone else had similar problems. The phone's interface with the sat nav display works really well but i'd much prefer them to be able to hear me when i use the phone!!

Hmmm, I also use the factory kit with a 6230i in my RS6. The microphone is in the roof lights bit (the holes), not sure about the RS4. My mrs was telling me I was very loud: I think you can adjust the volumes etc when the phone is in use by using the tone and the menu? buttons. In the menu there is volume settings etc, though I can't remember if there was a separate one for mic. Worth a look though.

In the end my problem turned out to be someone cutting through the tel speaker cables to fit another phone kit and not bothering to reconnect after it was removed, just wrapped insulation tape round it. Might be worth checking the if it is using the phones mic or the cars... had that problem in my last car, dodgy connection. Have you tried turning up the volume on the phone when in car kit mode?
