Audi powered lotus

Post by esthi » Fri Sep 01, 2006 8:10 pm

Hi,
I am a newbie on this forum.
I am the owner of the only Biturbo V6 Lotus Esthi ever made.
The car was made by Brandes Dchudow in Germany with a MTN tuned 425bhp Audi lump.
Whilst I am familiar with the Lotus scene I am relatively new to Audi power (although I do have a 1.8 turbocharged Audi engine in my Lotus Exige). Whilst the Esthi is a runner, it needs a bit of TLC. Can anybody please make recommendations/sources for RS4 engine workshop manuals etc and independant tuners?

Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy........... Your best bet for help with your car would be QST in Haywards Heath, Sussex......... as they are the only Mtm dealer with any knowledge of that particular product. There are many specialists who have different specialities, I am sure reading through some of the forums will enlighten you more.... Enjoy!

Can you post some pics of the Lotus - we've all read about it and seen a few teaser pics, but never spoken to anyone who has actually owned said car (I assumed it was a German 'special').

I am collecting the car next week, but I'll try to post some stock pix once I have figured out how to post them here.

Looks superb... If you look at the Tuning & Mods section of this forum, you will find a lot of info and feedback on peoples experience with a number of VAG biased tuning houses. Top of the pops at the moment appear to be MRC and APS for knowledge and value. Or if money is no object then the likes of AMD & QST.

Would love to drive that beast, although at 6'4" I doubt I'd fit in it.
Present:...
Lotus Evora GT410 Sport, Caterham 420R, CCM Spitfire, VW T2 Bay Window 1976

Past:
DB11 AMR, 992, 991.2, Yamaha MT01, 640d Gran Coupe, 635d Coupe, RS6 C5, Audi TT 225 Coupe, Astra with wind up windows, Citroen ZX, Rover 213, yes behold, a Rover 213... Renault 5

Hi Ken

welcome...how did I guess it was you ? ;)

cant add any more really to what the other guys have said - locally then QST/Kim Collins (pricey though) ...but will know the ECU

MRC have a great rep and did my old S4 V6 Biturbo for me...and Mihnea is a bit of a whizz on that engine (kinda like the DVA of the 2.7 world!) but they are based up near Oxford way ...might be worth giving them both a ring and seeing what they have to say...and comparing hourly rates....as I suspect thats going to be the biggest expense for you

cheers

I have seen the car previously in Evo mag in the 200mph issue.

I also have a Lotus Elise that I use for trackdays. It is in the garage at the moment for a Supercharged Honda Type R conversion (expected 330-360bhp when done). Ive been out in a 330bhp Exige which was RAPID so can only imagine what your car will go like!!!! Do you intend to do any trackdays- let me know if you do?
