WHAT HAVE I DONE! Bought a C5 RS6 that's what..

Post by Lander91 » Sat Oct 10, 2020 1:54 am

Hello all, finally have my mits on my dream car.

2003 RS6 wagon, Avus silver. I've already got a daily driver, so the RS6 is going to be "my precious".

Very good nic, just a bit of superficial work to do like replace a few average looking buttons etc.

I'm in New Zealand and this is one of about 30 NZ new Avants that we're brought in by the Audi distributor. There is/was about the same number of sedans.

Interestingly enough I found a Revo SPS dongle in the driver's door cubby so I need to contact the local agent to find out how to use it/check what time (if any is loaded) Previous owner knew nothing of it, bit of a long story but it's a cut my losses/their loss my gain deal.

Anyway, hello people and I'm stoked to be part of the sadomasochistic c5 RS6 community and this forum.

Welcome aboard.
Head over to the C5 section where you'll get that slow feeling of dread as to what the hell you've gone & done :thumb:

Welcome to the community on the "right" side of the world. You get to have the pleasure of continual internet shopping for bits and spending only half your life on the forum for hints etc. You'll certainly enjoy it but you do need to be of strong character to grin and bare it for the occasional problem. Always remember that the person that sold it on felt they'd hit the proverbial brick wall and nothing will have changed except you may have hidden depths and skills to get through it.

Cheers guys, yes I've got some ace's up my sleeves. I do still feel guilty about the purchase in so far as the chap who sold it spent nearly $20k nzd in the last 2 years fixing 90% of 'all the things' only for covid-19 to knock his business enough that he needed to liquidate some assets..

I’ve just done the same lol 😂 hopefully I won’t be in the funny farm anytime soon, as a lot of horror story regarding this model, but as the original poster has said this has also always been my dream car 👍 but a lot of knowledgeable people on here, have never owned a car anywhere near close to the spec of these
