Hi! I’m a newbie from the Edinburgh area. Thought best to introduce myself and say hello. Today I properly started my search for a B8 RS4.
I’m currently driving a BMW M135, but with a second child arriving last week, the car is now too small. I’ve always wanted a V8, so it’s now time to scratch an itch
Before my M135 I had a Z4M Coupe, and loved the naturally aspirated high revving S54 straight six engine, so I’m looking forward to the RS4’s naturally aspirated power delivery. I’ve also owned a 3.0i Z4 and a 3 series, and some questionable hot hatches in my youth
I’m attracted to the B8 for its all round capabilities. A family wagon that’s just at home taking the wife and kids shopping as it is hooning on the North Coast 500. It’s a good Q car and can blend in when you need it to, but will also be serious fun when you find an empty B road. I’m also fed up of sliding around in a tail happy car in the winter months.
I’ve been browsing the forum and searching key words, but can’t find a B8 RS4 buyers guide. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I hope to contribute more on the forum as my search progresses and ownership begins. I’m heading to the ‘for sale’ section next...
Newbie from Edinburgh area - hunting for a B8 RS4
Re: Newbie from Edinburgh area - hunting for a B8 RS4
Welcome along.
Hope you find what you’re looking for and be patient. The paragraph about what attracted you to the RS4 is bang on, I love mine and it got a hiding today after a local meet on some good B roads but like you say, just pop to Tesco and your sorted.
I came here after an E46 M3 so I know the straight six engine and it’s great but the V8 is another animal completely.
Get some photos up when you find your new toy.
Cheers

I’ve now enquired about a few cars, and seriously considering one in Suzuka Grey. It’s got most of the spec I’m after. Will let you know the outcome

The Front Final Drive oil is especially important @20k miles if there are transmission issues and warranty claims. Lots of ignorance about this with the Audi Dealer network.

I’m planning to speak to the dealership where the car is serviced, to get the detail on servicing history. Thanks for the link
