Hey, new RS6 owner
Hello all,
Been a member here for a while now but didnt post much as only had an Audi A4 B5, still have it actually but its an ongoing project i fell out of love with but it has rekindled recently so hoping to make progress with that soon
Anyway, in the meantime, i decided to treat myself to cheeky RS purchase, initially looking at C6 RS6's but decided to try a C5 first and tick that off the list before going for a C6 later and maybe even an RS4 or 2 in the future
Still to pick it up and get it looked over etc but looks like a good one, lowish miles (around 86K) with Bilsteins in place of DRC and gearbox has been refurbed recently along with some other maintenance, hopefully no issues for me to discover
I'll update with pics soon and will have a few questions etc as its my first one
Any recommendations on who to look into for insurance?

FON
Welcome along. Take a look at LV.
31 with 10 years NCB (protected) & 1 claim in the last 5 years comes in at £540. That includes all modifications as well.

Struggled to get any quotes below 800 with a lot of companies, but shockingly Admiral beat everybody then lowered it again to take my other can on as multi policy, got it down to the 500 bracket, chuffed with that
Off to pick the beast up later, will get some info and pics up soon...

Good find, looks well...although I'm not a fan of the body colour rear plate surround mod.
Got any plans for upgrades etc?

I was considering a Milltek but to be honest, it sounds quite good standard, better than i had expected! Plus, i want to keep the standard exhaust as imagine these will be in demand soon when they become even rarer. Was also considering the S5 20" wheels as i love the look of these on the C5 avants, but with this being my first, i may just keep it as standard and will consider selling on soon, just wanted to experience one really and may consider one in future that has already had some modding done that i can then add to
This has had a factory upgrade so im led to believe done by MTM which increases power to 500bhp with the ECU and TCU boards done, not sure if it was a dealer option or what but it has been confirmed by checking the ECU
It comes with a lot of bills inc gearbox recon, Bilsteins and brakes etc, so lots of big jobs done for peace of mind, im just enjoying the sheer mind bending acceleration that a car this size can offer!!! Already had a request to buy after only having it a few days!
Re: Hey, new RS6 owner
Your car looks great by the way. I've always preferred the avant over the saloon. It just so happened that the saloon had everything done to it that needed doing. It was a bit of a no-brainer really.
Did you source a Milltek ? I'm not sure about mine yet. I find it really droney, especially on the motorway. The chap at Dubbers said he would switch it back to an original if I wanted as he can sell the Millteks no problem.
Have you any photos of your retrofit stereo ? I'm curious as to how they look.

I havent looked into the Milltek properly yet, just a quick look on Ebay can get a system for around 750 though, but i might hold out for a 2nd hand one if something turns up. unfortunately you sometimes have to settle for some drone like that but i bet it sounds great for normal around town driving, bit more V8 burble is needed here
Sorry, maybe didnt word it properly, i havent done the retro fit either, it was just info as i had considered it myself to get phone connection and modern nav etc, but being a retrofit im sure it all fits nice and looks factory
