Newbie

Post by FrazerD » Mon Aug 06, 2018 7:03 pm

Hi folks,

Just thought I would introduce myself as I have been doing quite a bit of reading, research and learning about the B7 RS4 as I am planning one as my next car. I have provisionally sold my E46 M3 and starting to look at an RS4 more seriously rather than just ogle them.

The reason I sold my M3 was due to the lack of use as my good woman and I have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and we do as much as we can with them, hence the lack of use of my coupe. I don’t “need” a car as we have a pathfinder and I cycle to the farm but I couldn’t not have something nice sitting on the driveway, something fun to drive and practical too... an RS4 avant.

I will participate when I can but will be doing a lot of reading and looking until I build up some knowledge. If anyone is fairly local, Suffolk, it would be great to hear from you and maybe meet in the future. Anyway, enough about me and a warm hello from a nice but easily angered Scotsman :bigwave:

Cheers

Welcome. Think I recognise the username from M3cutters as I've not long sold my m3 coupe and bought an RS4 Avant.

Thanks. Yea I’m on M3cutters, joined here looking for advice and knowledge, maybe even a car too.

Did you have an E46 or E92? How are you getting on with your avant? What was the reason you made the change?

Cheers

Hey mate. I had a manual E46 Coupe. Best car I've had.

Changed car because we've not long had a baby and the extra space has been handy.

Haven't gelled with it yet and it's currently not being used as the DRC has failed and I'm waiting for some Koni shocks to arrive.

Hopefully I'll like it a bit more when I can drive it properly the engine is awesome it just hasn't really lived up to the M3 in the handling department but I think that's because it's not been quite right since I've owned it.

Hi folks,
Just a wee update, after a journey down to Sussex today, I have put a deposit on an RS4 Avant :biggrin2:

I can’t stop smiling and can’t wait to pick it up :kissmyrings:

I’ll post some photos and spec once the sale is finalised.

Cheers

Actually yes - I recognise the name too. Alot of BMW owners are starting to come over to the darkside it would seem.

Haha, hopefully there are a few from cutters that will stay there :bash: It’s not a bad place and it’s very useful but strongly opinionated and there’s not much love for modification, very oem which is fine but not to everyone’s taste.

I am enjoying the forum of the dark side and can’t wait to go and get my RS4.

Cheers

Opinionated would be an understatement and advertising things for sale is always painful everyone thinks everything is over priced :bash:

You’ve come from Cutters... it should seem relatively mild around here.

Haha, you could say that, just seems a bit friendlier rather than folk telling you what you have done to your car is wrong.

Hopefully on the 9th as my M3 isn’t being picked up until the 8th.

I really can’t wait, I could hardly stop smiling when I was in it, maybe the 4 rings are in my blood and I just haven’t realised until now

Cheers

It's a special car. I felt like that too and the feeling never really faded.

I am glad you have said that. The bloke I have bought it from told me he will buy another one in the future. It’s good to hear it’s justified when folk rave about them.

Hi folks,

Just thought I would update this as I picked up my new toy earlier today. I will start a build build thread at some point although I don’t plan on doing too much to it. It was a cracking drive home and I’m very happy

Looks really nice, congrats.
You gonna wrap / paint the window trims and roof rails to match the grille?
