Soon to be an RS4 B6 owner

Post by DigitalGraham » Sat Jul 07, 2018 11:02 am

Well after a year away from expensive running costs of a highly modified Mitsubishi Evo 5, I've decided (over several weeks of research and test driving :bigblink: ) that the RS4 is the future for me. Oh and my bank balance has recovered for the torturous Evo ownership :FIREdevil:

Living up norf near the Scottish borders it's taken a long time to scour the various online resources and sales/auctions and forums etc to find a potential purchase victim (I'm trying to work out who the victim might be ... me or car)!

I had toyed with the idea of an S5, which is no slouch of a car but it just didn't have that 'total package' or exclusivity of the RS models. So Monday hopefully will be D-day and I'll get the RS I want. Pictures to follow and when/if I buy it. :greyrs4:

Cheers, Graham

The S4 looks tidy, I had considered an S5 but the RS just seems a little more practicable ;)

I’ve had an RS4 B7 and I’ve had an S5. Out of the 2 the RS4 with its V8 wins hands down alllllllll day long. The V6 just sounds pants compared to the V8 beast.
Current ride’s
Q7 Floret Silver Black Edition On 22’s (2018)
Renault Clio 172 Cup. (Babe the track pig)

Previous rides
SQ5 Glacier white( 2016 65reg)
RS6 avant C7 Daytona Grey 2015 facelift. The one I waved goodbye to!!
2013: Q7 3.0 tdi s/line plus ibis white (13reg)
2012: S5 cabriolet glacier white (62 reg)
2011: RS4 saloon B7. Avus (57 reg)

The S5 was a V8 also, I'm not keen on the V6T tbh. I think it's the noise :rocker:

I know that the early S5’s were a V8 but I was comparing My S5 which was a late 2012 model which was a crappy V6T.

Exactly! Each to their own. You can love your “S” all you like, but it’ll always just be an “S” and never be an “RS”

Now Now, I like both and my decision to go with an RS would be a personal preference and the resale potential value, as I expect the car to be with me for a while.
