Rs4 b7/b8

Post by Shanns » Sun May 20, 2018 1:44 pm

Hi new to the forum so thought I'd say hi and ask a question or two.

Right I'm thinking of buying and rs4 but not sure if the b8 is worth the extra £10k. I do like mod cons on cars and would prefer a newer model but was wondering if there were any major differences between to two it be than the extra power etc and what owners opinions were who have either or had both.

I'm sure it's been covered on here before but what are realist running costs for both models and how do they compare ie
fuel/mpg
Service intervals
Pad and disc swaps
Tyres etc

Before people get on their high horse and say if you need to ask you can't afford it that's not the case just weighing up the cost so I go into it knowing the facts. I am considering quite a few cars and have a max budget of £30k.

For interest looking at m3 saloon, focus rs and rs4 any other family sized weapons considered if you have suggestions???

Cheers

I'm guessing the tax/mpg on the B8 may be better.
service/brakes/tyres I would assume are comparable.

Big difference for me would be the fact hat B7 is a manual; B8 are S-Tronic.

I have a B7 RS4 and was tossing up between the B7 RS4 and the B8 S4.

The manual gearbox V S-Tronic (and their horror stories) were enough of a decider for me!

doubt you will disappointed with either!
