How doo!
New guy alert!! A big 'Aup' from Yorkshire, UK to everyone on here!
After many years of wanting an RS I've finally got one! Bought a very nice RS6 C5 a couple of months ago and even though it's costing me money already and some nice person broke into my house looking for the keys for it.. I'm in love!
Ticks all the boxes for me (but don't tell the Mrs)
I'll be asking a few questions soon but for now, just Hello & here she is....

Re: How doo!
Thank you!
I know this sounds daft but I'm not a big lover of the number plate to be honest? A bit too in your face for me? He says with big & loud exhausts!!!
I bought it from a very nice chap (who might be on here?) from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. I'm up near Leeds.
She's been VERY well cared for by an enthusiast. And after 5 months of looking I think/hope I picked the right one? I did my homework and all the usual weak bits have been sorted (New gearbox + H&R shocks + long list of stuff) Fingers/arms/legs crossed she'll be ok for a bit. Famous last words!
Cheers!
Mark.

Hi mate I am from North Yorkshire and had mine for nearly five years. Car looks great but will never stop costing you btw. My missus doesn't mind me having it as she classes it as a hobby!
Don't know if your thinking of going or know of it but Specialist Cars run a car meet in Malton Easter Sunday Morning. I go twice a year it'd be nice to see another C5 there.

Ha, I'm working in Sutton Coldfield this morning. A C5 is always a gamble, just hope you're luckymooseymania wrote:Thank you!

Looks a nice example, Daytona really suits the C5.

That's mad?! I know its a risk, but surely it always will be with power like they have? I just love the look of them, and the RS4 B7 was too expensive for me.chunky79 wrote:

I had her down at MRC and they did the health check/rolling road thing. They said "for its age & never been to MRC before it was a really good car!" Do for me! Plus it is kicking out around 500bhp which was a bonus!!!!

Just make sure you've got a big wallet...mooseymania wrote:

If MRC have given it the thumbs up then that's a good start but as Doug has said, the C5 is fragile. C6 is much more reliable but that's offset by the initial outlay.mooseymania wrote:I had her down at MRC and they did the health check/rolling road thing. 500 just requires a remap although it's the additional torque that makes it more fun
Oh and welcome!

Re: How doo!
Mmmmmm it's all a bit negative guys? Poor old C5 eh?
Surely any RS will cost you if it goes wrong? Especially the older it gets?
Like you say if I had the money for a C6 or newer car it would be way more out lay than the £10 grand I've just spent. And if I look after this car, and for some reason it has to be sold in a few years time. I'll get most of my cash back and not be effected by a massive depreciation loss you'd get from a newer car?
We'll see anyway. The car has a list as long as your arm what has been replaced/work done.
At the moment I'm just enjoying the beast!
