Hi guys, I've recently bought a 2006 Daytona grey saloon in really nice condition, it's already got a Milltek non res cat back valved exhaust fitted but I'm looking at the next step to quicken things up.
What's the best next steps guys? Remap, air box? Carbon clean etc.. I know all these things will help speed things up but anyone have any advice on the best way to go? :?:

Right ok, the system on there looks like it's been fitted fairly recently but the dealer didn't have any paperwork for it so I tried contacting the last owner but so far no joy.
I'll prob leave it and see how it goes for now, I'm thinking of having the motor carbon cleaned and a remap while it's there, I've spoken to a guy called Martin from Unit20 earlier, seemed a top bloke and very knowledgeable on the RS4, anybody had work done with them or know how they stand up?

because people are sheep, they work yes they sound ok too but offer not much else in performance that you cant get out the standard exhaust with some mods , if its new keep it but if you want the largest gain it will have to go.

for mods

change filter, panel probably best for the money.
de flap and port inlet manifold
carbon clean
single cat or no cat downpipes
remap

What are the ones to go for mate? I don't want anything stupidly loud and it's gotta get thru an MOT..

That list sounds good, most of that list seems common for anyone that's played around with their RS so must be good, I'll look around for the best tuners. MRC and Unit20 names keep coming up and now "big grizz" not sure of company for this guy yet, if anyone knows?

Ah right, cheers mate. I've already spoken to Martin there yesterday and he seems well switched on and really helpful.

Martin and Grizz are great guys and will look after you well. Lets see some pictures of the newly acquired beast then.

Martin = Grizz = Unit 20 :wink:

Agreed with above - you don't buy a Milltek cat-back for performance. You buy it to sound like a NASCAR. Milltek themselves told me (when I was having trouble trying to persuade my current insurers to insure it) that you get more performance gain running Shell V Power over plain supermarket 95.

I'm not a B7 owner but I think its agreed the best bhp-per-pound enhancement you could do on an RS4 is a de-coke. Oh and check the airbox isn't full of leaves - you can do that for free!

I'm a bit gutted that the Milltek doesn't really boost performance much if that's the case.. It does sound ok
Just ordered a K&N filter cos the standard one is grubby and I know these filters are good from my bikes.
Next step for me will def be, off to Unit20 for a full decoke, stage 2 remap and quiz them on deflapping the manifold (whatever that is?) poss ditch the standard cats too if that helps.. All suggestions/input great fully received guys
(Will try n get some pics up as soon as it stops bloody raining!)

search for gut the pre cats, that will add some power and a bit of sound, deflapping is what it says, there are 8 flaps on the inside on inlet that help smooth the startoff but only seems to be a bit rough when cold, can be removed with no problems when the carbon clean is being done. get a cold air feed put in and delete the driver aux rad.

all been covered, alot is in my build thread
