Hi all,

Firstly greetings to all and a Happy New Year!

I've recently taken the plunge and bought myself a Daytona Grey '08 RS6. Initially I was looking for a low mileage '08 model with a few options like advanced key and sunroof, but unfortunately all the one's that I looked at were not well looked after. I ended up popping up to Peterborough Audi to inspect one they they had with 55k on the clock. Whilst this had more mileage on it then I ideally wanted and didn't have the options I wanted, it was in very good condition and just felt right. After negotiating a good trade on the wife's MB C350 and negotiating new discs and pads all round, I ended up paying £30k. This was with a service just carried out, 12 months tax and 12 months warranty. Hopefully you'll tell me I didn't overpay! I think I did alright particularly after seeing what else is out there at this price bracket. I pick the car up this Saturday and will probably not get much sleep until then in eager anticipation.

I have a fairly extensive car history, mainly due to cars not holding my attention for too long. My last car was a SLK55 which I owned for a couple of years which is the longest I've ever held onto a car. I'm hoping that the RS6 will keep me interested for at least a few years.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading up on all I can, and am sure that it won't take me too long before undertaking mods to the exhaust and remapping! I hope I can contribute to the forum.

Thanks
Michael

Good price

Now get it remapped, you've only got half the car.

Welcome to the forum. The warranty, tax and service when I had them all done was just under £3k, so for £30k I'd say you got a really good deal.

Get some photos up, get it mapped (MRC), and enjoy. :thumbs:

4x new wheels tomorrow too! On the plus side, the alcantara wheel came up really well with some alcantara cleaner so that doesn't need a re-trim anymore.

Thanks for the welcome so far. Relieved to hear that I got a good deal. I do know that I screwed Audi as far as they would go as the day I viewed the car we were £500 apart from agreeing a deal. I walked away, viewed a private car the following day, and ended up calling Audi the following day agreeing to pay the additional £500.

Plans thus far are:

1) Either Milltek or custom zorst;
2). ITG filters;
3). Remap;
4). Window tints;
5). Possibly 8mm spacers.

I am also going to see how good/bad the Bose system is. If not up to scratch I may end up putting some JL Audio gear I have laying around.

I'll stick some pics up once I have had a chance to detail the car properly.

Thanks
Michael

Trups - what in your view are the best settings? Been fiddling with mine lately but not yet hit the sweet spot.

Woly.

It took me a year to find this setting..

how I had mine was: Treble on full. Bass either at 2pm or 3pm depending on how much bass you like. DSP bose setting put that on Surround rear. Then put a track on, crank up the volume and you will see how great this System is, I thought it wasn't great at 1st and thought something wasn't right but that was just the way the last owner had it.

one of the last lot of songs that I noticed really sounded great on it was Naughty Boy - la la la, maybe not to some people's taste but well worth having a listen in the car.

Great song.
