Hi

New to forum but have always loved the rs models, especially rs4 which I drove yesterday.

Lovely sprint blue with a few extras...55k on the clock and stealer wants 24900 for it which is a bit steep. What do you reckon? I'm thinking more like 22 to 23 it's at Portsmouth Audi :audibash:

Sounds steep to me too, more like the 23k you mention I reckon as it'll have 12 month warranty.

Yep, we'll he's trying to reel me in but he can forget it at that price. Becoming quite a rare car but there are still enough on auto trader or oiston heads that its still a buyers marker IMO.

What do people think it will depreciate from here on in? I'm thinking 3 to 4 k over next few then levelling out to around 14 to 15 k for tidy examples?

They have held there price well from day one....the b7 is the car that sold audi to non audi drivers if you no what I mean..the demand for them is still there and tbh I can't see it diminishing as the new one is basically the same car, just a bit fresher looking...good luck fella you will love the sound of that v8,its addictive...

Oh yeah it's terrific. Had more feelgood factor than the m3 i drove. think its the instrument panel and the flat bottomed wheel.I know it's going to hold value better than most anything else I could spend 20 odd k on but there are plenty that are less. Why pay more...? Audi dealers really bad for mark ups, especially those in the south in my experience - Poole, Southampton, reading etc etc.

You're right about the howl it makes though...addictive. :biggrin3:

What I would say fella,is have a look on the classifieds here and see if any forum members are selling...then i would go main dealer route then peeheads,autotrader...be prepared to wait for the right car...

Thanks...that's good advice. It is the right car except its 1500 to 2000 too much IMHO and I don't wanna feel like the dealers ate taking the piss.

The rs4 is getting really rare it seems, there are more m3s within 100 miles of me than national for the rs4. Partly explains the good residuals ( though not main dealers greed...!). I remember being disappointed that Audi discontinued after only a couple of years as only on rs in production at one time. BMW churn them out. Not exactly a common car but I love the stealth nature of the rs4 as most don't have a clue what it is and what it can do to a twisty road.

Not interested in avant as have a 530d touring in the house already, not sure about cabrio as cant be arses to wash more than every couple of weeks and gets filthy on my route. Don't think it's a good idea to use auto too often let alone on a cloth top....

Didn't realise there was a for sale section here as still finding way around. That's helpful.

Thanks.

No one can say it's too much unless they've seen it.

What work has it had done of late? What will it need in the next 12mths? What's the history like? What extras does it have?

A comparable privately sold car might then be less, but in theory you're getting a more solid warranty (I stress in theory!)

Also, have you tried to negotiate yet?

I tend to agree that 25k sounds toppy on the face of it. But for someone that might stack up depending on what else the car has...

PS if it's not an Avant it's not a proper RS4

No chance. The rear carbuncle is horrendous aerodynamically.

(Unless you're referring to the Sassoon version in which case they never see over 30).

It's got comfort seats which I quite like, xenon, DVD though I'm not that impressed by a tiny screen near drivers left knee, sat nav, memory card slots.

Basically, it's nice, just what you'd expect really, not stratospheic but not really the point of this Car. It's all about the drivetrain , chassis and brakes.

I'm worried about the shocks and coking engines and clutch on manual. The first replier was right, one year warranty only but I mentioned extending to two years on condition of sale which salesman said he'd "ask the boss" which in my mind means probably not but they need to be damn sure that a 6year old car on nigh on 50 per dent residyals will be tight as a drum. TBH it'd probably be cheaper to buy elsewhere and warranty privately but people think main dealers will take care of them if a problem develops - in my experience they don't really, just look after their own (big) profit margins.

The dealer says "that's the price" but he needs te sale more than I need the car at the moment.. :bigwave:
