Nice idea Simon. That works fine for application software, but not quite so handy for embedded software.
I prefer to play it a bit differently anyway. I build in bugs

The project (worth about 10 million) is due to be delivered to the client's customer this week and they need me to make a software change before it can be shipped.
Guess who won't be working on it until the invoice is paid

Worked really well for EPOS, they were left with access to the information stored..as per the law, but the system would not allow any other type of activerty, a day in a busy store soon has there stock levels all over the place
