New RS6 C5 Owner Saying Hello

Post by Richard J » Sat Mar 18, 2017 5:53 pm

Hi All,
I thought It was time I said hello after buying my C5 RS6 over a month ago. I've had my eye on one for a long time and after selling my 460BHP Impreza last year I thought it was time to move to the RS6. The car was bought as a second car as was my Impreza, but unlike the Impreza which hardly got driven I can't leave the RS on the drive, I love it. It's totally standard apart from KW suspension, and in good condition mileage is low, but is slowly increasing. It has good history but I'm about to give it a full service and gear box service just to keep on top of things, timing belt isn't due for two years luckily. I have a list of jobs I'm working my way through, nothing major just little niggles to make the car perfect again.
Richard.

Thanks for the reply Chunky, once I've sorted out a few issues I'm planning a remap and possibly a Miltec. However other than that I plan to keep it standard.
Richard.

Looks good. Your wheels would look much nicer in the original colour.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Thanks for all your replies. Does look better with silver wheels.

Managed to get a grill badge from Pete62 so it looks like an RS6 from the front now

I've got my service parts and gear box service parts now aswell as a few other bits, just waiting for a quiet day to give her some TLC and get on top of things, hopefully next week.

I've not given anyone a good FONing in a while, so FON.

Off topic, wheel colour; I was thinking about Athrancite because my bread van is a 'Muggy' and there is a blue tint in Athrancite, looks a bit 'darker' too and I have black tips for the Miltek on my shelf. You reckon stick to the original? I was going to try and get an Audi paint code or very close.

If you get the Audi paint code let me know, I'm going to get mine done properly as they have just been blown over any old silver, not a great job. I don't mind a few subtle mods on an RS6 C5, but the cars look best standard in my opinion and silver wheels look best on my car.
