Hey, new owner of an old 2003 RS6 Avant in Midlands

Post by live.marc » Wed Apr 29, 2015 1:47 pm

Hello people, hope you're rocking good!

Yeah I've taken the plunge and bought myself a future classic, by selling my BMW 320D and emtying my piggy bank, and my ears are thanking me! But my wallet's having a bit of an argument with me!

Anyone else around the midlands who knows of a good place to get a cambelt change for an RS6 2003 Avant?
Also anyone know of a trustworthy garage that can do a full service. Just got the car, and these are the things I need to do first!

Also if you know what sort of best prices these should cost, Best I've got so far is £1100 for cambelt, and £650 for a major service. Not from main dealer, just a specialist VW, BMW Merc place. Are these good prices? Service seems a bit high to me, I know it's a major service but thought it would be more on the £500 mark!

Any tips would be great, as I've never owned one of these beasts before :-)

I'm in the West Midlands.

Thanks in advance for any replies

Cheers

The specialist for this car is MRC in Banbury so if you're at the southern end of West Midlands they won't be too far away from you. Even if you are at the northern end of West Midlands they are still worth the travelling to.
Sorry i can't help on prices though as I don't own a 6.

Cheers Mike, i lost the details to this forum and was lost a bit among all the forums that I've sifted through, but I think this forum is the best imho, and have been extremely busy, but thanks again for the info, I will have to pay them a visit sometime soon! I did actually find somewhere in Malvern to do the change, but do want to take the car to MRC and get a health check etc one of these days.

As above dude. Mrc is the best local place by far. However I tend to service mine myself. Just did the full service. Plugs and filters X4 and oil. Will be doing the cambelt next summer when it's due.

Welcome along. I'm in the Midlands too, I go to Unit20 for service and repairs, MRC for tuning work. I've used MRC in the past a couple of times for servicing too, both excellent places.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!
