Dear All
Looking to buy an RS4 B7 avant and want to know if the wing back seats are a must have and if the sport suspension plus is important option too. Looking to spend about £25k Anyone have any thoughts on ceramic brake discs as well...

Re: RS4 avant
Ash, welcome and FON.
Great choice of car, I think you'll enjoy your time in one.
The bucket seats are great, very supportive in the corners, etc. Once you've adjusted them properly they are very comfortable. They look great and make the cabin feel different to the B6 and B7 A/S4's that share the platform. I'd suggest going for carbon inlays too, for the same reason. Of course you could retrofit them or have others carbon dipped. Buckets seem to be the preferred option and therefore are in higher demand come resale, but it's all subjective really.
SS+ suspension offers slightly stiffer and lower springs and a 2mm thicker rear anti-roll bar. Both of which can be retrofitted if you so desire. As with the ceramics, it's a great option to have but I wouldn't pass up another car that meets your requirements if it doesn't have those options. As the cars are getting older the gap between well maintained cars and unloved examples grows further. For me, condition is key above all else.
Enjoy the hunt and try and buy from an enthusiast if you can. There's a few good examples on here (Stu's from NI for example, which has all the above options, etc).
Good luck!
